WHY YOU SHOULD STOP SHARING YOUR BODY CREAMS/ LOTION WITH YOUR BABY.

Yes, I know a lot of people (mostly mothers) make this mistake of sharing the same cream/lotion with their children without knowing that it is dangerous for their health. You might  feel the cream is ok for you, hence it is suitable for them too because you so much trust the  cream.

Do you know there are some ingredients in this cream that might be suitable for you but no suitable for your child eg lanolin, hydroquinone …..

Today I will be talking about lanolin.

WHAT IS LANOLIN

Lanolin is an oily substances obtained from sheep wool. It coats the sheep's fur, after a sheep as been shorn, a waxy substance called "sebum" is left on the fur.
Though before lanolin is used it has to undergo a lot of purification process.
lanolin combines with water making it more useful ingredients in hand creams, lotion, moisturizers, sunscreens, make up products, hair spray and so on.......
LANOLIN IS GENERALLY  SAFE BUT CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR USE ON YOUR KIDS
                                      EFFECT OF LANOLIN ON BABY
  • It can cause allergic reactions, rash, redness, itching and even blistering on their delicate skin
  • it can cause poisoning (this include diarrhoea, vomiting, skin redness and swelling.
  • it can affect the gastrointestinal system causing intestinal blockage.

These are reasons why babies products doesn't contain lanolin. so pls mothers kindly check if your current body cream contains lanolin. It is suitable for you but not your baby, that might be the reason for the rashes on your child
NOTE; Lanolin is safe but not suitable for babies .
SO pls mothers next time you went shopping kindly take your time to check the ingredients on the baby cream you are getting for your child.
